The topic in High Priests group around the world today was the apostasy and restoration. I listened as a white-haired gentleman, a former stake president, and person whose face was aglow with righteousness bore testimony regarding these principles. It wasn’t new information – I didn’t learn anything – but I did feel. I felt uplifted, rejuvenated and blessed.
When I was a child I read about the ancient faithful in the Bible and Book of Mormon, and I believed, or I thought that they had something more powerful than we have today. I read about their miracles, their faith and their blessings, and it seemed more immediate and more powerful than what I was experiencing in my life.
Now that I am no longer a child, now that I have walked many miles by faith, now that I have tested the promises and sought the great blessings, now that I have asked, and sought, and knocked, and now that I have seen and received and been welcomed within, I want to say with the greatest emphasis I can form into words, that not only is this gospel true, but that it works. It works today with equal power and equal privilege as it did in Enoch’s day, or when Christ was alive, or when the Brother of Jarad climbed his holy mount.
It is all present, nothing is missing, the power is real – we ARE living the dream.
