Thank You Jesus

This is a photograph of the shadow of the Christus statue in the visitor’s center on Temple Square SLC.

We had gone to dinner at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building to celebrate our wedding anniversary. By the time we were done it was almost closing time for  Temple Square, but I had a strong feeling that we should walk over there.

The sun was just setting behind the temple, making a magnificent view that reflected off of the roof of the Tabernacle and backlit the temple. A total stranger very kindly took a few pictures of Terri and I to add to our memories of that day.

We walked a few more feet and were so astonished to see Darrell and Cheyenne, Amy, George, Kathy and Jareth,  (whom you may remember from their Un-Blog comments). They had just visited us the day before. They were on their way back to Tennessee, and had just stopped for a short visit to Temple Square.

It was a miracle to meet them there. I think it was also a “sign” but I’m not sure I understand of what.

We walked together up to the rotunda  and marveled at the magnificent statue of Christ there.  I noticed the shadow of Christ’s hand on the floor, and positioned my shadow hand holding onto his index finger like a little child’s. It brought the Spirit unexpectedly because I wasn’t creating a photo, I was reaffirming my relationship, and my dependence upon Him.

A few days later I received the results of my last CT scan. The doctor again said “No visible cancer”. My response was “Thank you Jesus,” and I thought of this picture, and wanted to share it with you.

Back to serious Un-Blogging tomorrow.

Brother John, I was very touched when I read this unblog. It was truly a great blessing meeting you and Terri. Our small group have all been greatly blessed with the Spirit since our two meetings.

We were all overjoyed to hear about the good report from your doctor. I agree with what everyone else has said about the picture you posted with this unblog, it makes me realize how small I am, and how dependant I am on the Savior for everything I have and am.

Praise be to God, and His Son, Jesus Christ for Their power to heal, the power of the atonement, and the power of love that They give to us. We love you and Terri, and our prayers are with you both.

    Dear John,
So happy to hear your blessed news. I am so grateful for the healing powers of the atonement brought about by and through our Savior Jesus Christ. It’s is such a wonderous feeling of love and gratitude.

I love the picture of you hanging onto Jesus’s fingerand am sure there is a scripture that goes with it, I will check to see what I find.

Have been reading “Triumph Of Zion.” Wow, so wonderful and such amazing words!

    Thank you again.

    Beloved John,
Just before leaving for church this morning, Nancy flipped on the BYU channel and there was the story of this very statue of Christ which I had to watch, and tonight I received your note concerning your experience with it. I am full of thanksgiving for you and Terry and your latest report. Alaska is still extremely beautiful but a little lonely without you two.
