I have been seeing quite a few new people signing up to receive email notification of new postings. I just want to restate that I am planning on resuming Un-Blogging early next year. I just don’t want to disappoint our new friends as they wonder what’s going wrong with the Un-Blog.
This time of year charms my soul. It isn’t the lights, or the Christmas hymns, or the presents and childish joys. I think it is the fact that humanity grows more kind and more outwardly giving and loving as we ponder how to give and how to bless others. This very act invites the Spirit of the Lord to blanket our world, to warm our lives, to enlighten our souls, to sweeten our lives and enrich our eternal hopes. This is why Christ was born in Bethlehem, to lift us from the world and bring us into His arms.
When we add to this glorious effect of the season, the fact that Jesus is the Christ, and when we choose as a world to worship Him and honor His birth, His condescension in our behalf, and His atoning grace – then you have Christmas for reals, as my kids used to say.
