Update From Terri Pontius

Dear UnBlog Family,

I wanted to update you all on the book I am compiling of selected UnBlogs by John Pontius. First of all, let me tell you that it has been a joy to work on this book! I have truly felt the angels by my side (especially John) every single day. In addition to this sweetness, I received special help from a dear friend, Sanford, who John and I met in 2011. He called me one day and offered to help simply because he felt a prompting to do so; and he has been absolutely invaluable to me with his scholarship, spiritual insight and editorial expertise. Thank you, Sanford, for your incredible work and Christlike service!

I had been working faithfully on reading, selecting, and editing the blogs since March, but was told by the publisher (Cedar Fort) that the book would be not published until at least February or April of 2014. Then a few weeks ago when I was visiting our son in Texas, they called me and said that if I finished the manuscript by July 1st, it could be published in November in time for Christmas! I was delighted, and flew back early to get the book finished by that deadline—and we did it!

So “Journey to the Veil” (its present title) will be on the shelves in November 2013, in time for Christmas. I can’t believe it—and yet of course I can. It is another testimony to me yet again of the never-ending tender mercies of the Lord.

I am actually excited for this book to be published. John’s stories and unique spiritual insights are in an easy-to-read format of short blogs, and are also arranged by topic rather than by date. As I was working with them, I realized that this is the “How To” book for Visions of Glory. It explains clearly and succinctly how we can become a Zion people and achieve the glories described in that book. So it is not too surprising that the Lord wanted it to follow so closely on the heels of VOG. I am just so humbled by it all.

Thank you, each and every one of you, for keeping the UnBlog alive with your reading and comments. You have each touched my life, and I will never forget the joy and brotherhood in Christ that you gave to my husband through the years. Perhaps this book will be able to carry some of that special joy within its pages; that is surely my deepest desire.

Terri, I can’t tell you how much I love your husband and how grateful I am to the Lord for for guiding me to his books! Thank you, thank you for sharing his blogs, what a gift!!! My husband and I moved to Saratoga Springs a little over a year ago to be by our daughter, I had no idea you were here as well and that we were so close to where such bounteous blessings were being bestowed. Visions of Glory and Journey to the Veil are truly works directed by the Lord. Sincerely, Sue McCombs. Stillwater Ward

    Terri,
I am so excited for this new book! I was introduced to John’s books less than a year ago when I met Kent and Linda P., who grew up with you. Linda and I have become great friends, and at the same time I have read more and more from John’s books. There is no way I can describe how much they have meant in my life.
I sure would like to meet you sometime. Do you still do firesides?
Thank you so much for your work.

This has been my favorite place to be this past year. I have read every blog, listened to every fireside (more than once) and read the books. I cannot seem to get enough as I am changing, growing and learning. The scriptures have new meaning to me, thanks to John.
I express my sincere gratitude to John and to everyone else involved here for this gold mine of light to my soul.
I will be sharing this book with my seeking friends. Thank you and God bless you Terri.

Thank you so much for putting this book together. John’s blog has been one of my very favorite sites online for uplifting my spirit, elevating my horizons for eternal truths and possibilities. The wonderful quality about this blog has been the peace and lack of contention found here along with the all these gems of experience John has shared with all who were visitors to his blog.

I look forward to the upcoming book release with much anticipation and pleasure.
